چکیده

We develop a systematic approach to construct a new extended class of completely solvable rational potentials. Second-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics dictates the latter to be isospectral to some of the well-studied quantum systems. Our method is illustrated with examples of generalized Pöschl-Teller and Scarf I potentials. We also study the Scarf II for which we find that the PT symmetry facilitates reconciling our approach to the requirement that the rationally-extended potential be singularity free. Short title: Isospectrality of conventional and new extended potentials

By applying the higher order Darboux algorithm to an exactly solvable non Hermitian PT symmetric potential, we obtain a hierarchy of new exactly solvable non Hermitian PT symmetric potentials with real spectra. It is shown that the symmetry underlying the potentials so generated and the original one is nonlinear pseudo supersymmetry. We also show that this formalism can be used to generate a la...

Supersymmetry-generated complex optical potentials with real spectra

We show that the formalism of supersymmetry (SUSY), when applied to parity-time (PT ) symmetric optical potentials, can give rise to refractive index landscapes with altogether nontrivial properties. In particular, we find that the presence of gain and loss allows for arbitrarily removing bound states from the spectrum of a structure. This is in stark contrast to the Hermitian case, where the S...

The interplay of supersymmetry and PT symmetry in quantum mechanics: a case study for the Scarf II potential

Motivated by the duality of normalizable states and the presence of the quasi-parity quantum number q = ±1 in PT symmetric (non-Hermitian) quantum mechanical potential models, the relation of PT symmetry and supersymmetry (SUSY) is studied. As an illustrative example the PT invariant version of the Scarf II potential is presented, and it is shown that the “bosonic” Hamiltonian has two different...

Supersymmetric Construction of three-dimensional isospectral systems

The concept of supersymmetry arose in the study of elementary particle physics. The term “supersymmetry” was originally used in reference to the symmetry of bosons and fermions, which behave according to different statistical laws. Supersymmetry is widely regarded as a necessary concept for unifying all the elementary forces. The concept of supersymmetry was originally formulated in the framewo...
